My Story

I was the kid who always sprinted across the soccer field when someone got hurt, wanting so badly to help: That instinct—to help, to heal—stuck with me, and threw me into my career in medicine. But my own journey through the medical world wasn’t straightforward. Battling infertility for years, facing unexplained miscarriages, and navigating the rough seas of IVF, I discovered - our healthcare system is broken, highly ineffective and riddled with unempathetic people.  From that difficult journey, I was luckily blessed with 2 incredible kiddos, a beautiful outcome from a path riddled with challenges.

The shift in my perspective came with parenthood and a friend’s bold career move into the realm of essential oils. It sparked a curiosity in me that led to late nights researching and blogging about the maze of health trends. I learned a crucial lesson: take everything with a grain of salt, and remain curious. After my battle with infertility, I realized I was compounded by stress and the exhaustive demands of my profession. I was BURNED OUT. It was a wake-up call about the power of listening to our bodies and the importance of holistic health, embracing our physical, mental, and emotional well-being together. Not separately.

Then life threw me another curveball—a heart-wrenching divorce. Standing at a crossroads, I chose the path less traveled: I decided to treat my root cause of illness, my emotional pain, that even lead back to childhood. Rather than getting doped up on psych meds, I went to therapy 3 days a week for almost 4 years with a therapist that performs attachment focused EMDR (the most well studied and efficacious treatment for PTSD). This choice wasn’t just about survival; it was about thriving, about fighting for myself the way I fight for my kids and my patients.

Now, I see our societal hustle for what it is—a recipe for burnout and ill health. We’re caught in a cycle of working endlessly, chasing material success, and using quick fixes to cope with stress. But what if the real solution lies in balancing work and life, in giving ourselves permission to rest, to enjoy life, and to nourish our bodies and souls? That’s the message I want to share.

Through my personal and professional experiences, I’ve learned the importance of treating the root causes of illness, not just the symptoms. It’s about healing from the inside out, and I’m here to guide my patients—and maybe even change a small piece of the world—towards that goal. Let’s start seeing health as a holistic journey, one where we listen to our bodies, prioritize our well-being, and find healing, not just through medicine, but through understanding, compassion, and a balanced approach to life.
