Let me start with a story.
A client of mine had lived through a traumatic childhood, suffered more than a few injuries in life and was left with chronic depression and anxiety. It finally led to an over-activation of her sympathetic nervous system, also known as “burnout.”
I had her on beneficial meds and she was living a healthy lifestyle, but it just wasn’t enough. She felt like she couldn’t relax. Did I mention she’s also a business owner and single mother?
Nothing seemed to be working. And I’ve had many clients just like this, who for some reason or another can’t figure out how to relax enough to let go of the stress and enjoy the benefits of some down time.
